The Monteverdi Choir and the English Baroque Soloists have joined forces with harmonia mundi to release a highly anticipated new recording of Handel’s Messiah. Under the direction of Christophe Rousset, the ensembles combine decades of expertise in historically informed performance with an outstanding cast of soloists. The recording also marks the beginning of a new long-term partnership between the Monteverdi Choir & Orchestras and the renowned label harmonia mundi.

The work was recorded following a series of acclaimed performances in December 2025. The interpretation is distinguished by its transparency, dramatic intensity, and the Monteverdi Choir’s characteristic precision in text delivery and vocal artistry. Together with the English Baroque Soloists, Christophe Rousset brings Handel’s masterpiece vividly to life, revealing its spiritual depth, musical elegance, and compelling expressive power.
