Orchestra dell´Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia Roma & Sir Antonio Pappano
European Tour May 2019 – Soloist: Lisa Batiashvili

The internationally renowned orchestra from Rome together with its charismatic conductor Sir Antonio Pappano toured Europe in May 2019. For almost one decade Maestro Pappano conducts in Rome and made it to one of the world’s leading orchestras. With the violinist Lisa Batiashvili, who was Artist in Residence last season, an important artistic alliance has been consolidated, which is particularly characterized by the noticeable joy of making music together. Batiashvili performed Béla Bartók’s first violin concerto in the joint concerts of the tour. The orchestra also played Modest Mussorgski’s “A night on the Bare Mountain” and Nikolai Rimski-Korsakov’s Symphonic Suite “Sheherazade” as well as Mahler’s Symphony No. 6 in Vienna and Dresden.
